Track Bliss: Dynamic Group Interval Runs

Favorite run workout is on the track, 800 400 K reps, anything like that. Ideally where there's a good group of you. And you're like, taking it in turns each rep to lead one or taking turns for a lap each and then swing around to the back. That's that's my favorite run session.

My favorite run workout is on the track, specifically doing 800m or 400m repetitions. I enjoy it even more when there's a good group of runners participating. It's great to take turns leading each repetition or alternating laps, creating a collaborative and dynamic training session. This type of workout is my favorite.

What running shoe would you recommend for racing?

Ultra Lightweight Hoka Rockex: The Ultimate Racing Shoe

So I would recommend for racing a Hoka rockex. Like, I use it for Ironman triathlons, think it's awesome. It's lightweight. Its cushioned. And it served me very well over the last few years.

I recommend the Hoka rockex for racing. It's lightweight and cushioned, and I've had great success with it in Ironman triathlons.

I recommend the Hoka Rocket X for racing. It's a lightweight and cushioned running shoe that I personally use for Ironman triathlons. It has served me well over the past few years and I think it's an awesome choice for racing.

Using Data to Boost Training: Insights from an Athlete

Yeah, I always use that date of my training. So power on the bike, use that to guide some of the workouts. Although, I would say that I'm not a slave to the numbers. Like I don't Nest like rely solely on it and have to stick to certain numbers, but love looking at it afterwards, pace for me, on the run. So not so much. Heart rate. Although I will record it, my harder sessions, but I use pays more for run sessions and swimming just used like time, just speed per 100 meters. So we have everything. Thing record all the data don't necessarily spend ages looking at it, but it's nice to have to reflect back on.

Yes, I do use data for my training. When cycling, I use power data to guide my workouts, although I don't solely rely on the numbers and I'm not bound by specific targets. I enjoy looking at the data afterwards to analyze my performance. For running, I focus more on pace rather than heart rate, although I do record my heart rate during harder sessions. In swimming, I simply use time and speed per 100 meters. I make sure to record all the data but don't spend excessive time analyzing it. It's nice to have the data available for reflection purposes.

What advice could you give an aspiring professional triathlete?

Believe in Yourself: Consistency Beats Heroism for Aspiring Triathletes

So, one bit of advice that I'd give to you is believe in believe in yourself because you'll probably be able to go a lot further than what you think and consistency Trump's one day of being a hero, you know, just consistently backing up day after day and eventually you'll look back on in a couple of years and you'll see how far you've come. Although at the time when you look at how far you want to go or seem like it's an unimaginable amount.

Believe in yourself and be consistent, even when it seems like your goals are too far away. With time, you'll look back on how far you've come.

One piece of advice I would give to an aspiring professional triathlete is to believe in yourself. Often, you are capable of achieving more than you think. Consistency is key in this journey. It's better to consistently put in the work day after day rather than relying on one exceptional day. By consistently showing up and giving your best effort, you will be amazed at how far you can progress. Even though the distance you want to cover may seem unimaginable at times, looking back after a few years, you will see how far you have come. Trust in your abilities and stay committed to your goals.

If you could make your ideal race what would it look like (terrain and conditions)?

Race in Scenic Switzerland: Relentless Undulations, No Massive Climbs

Conditions. First of all, definitely not like Corona probably 18, 20 degrees Celsius. So for Americans, I know, 60 fahrenheit, 65 Fahrenheit, that would be ideal somewhere Scenic though, like the watering. I'm an Switzerland was really nice. Click crystal clear. You can see fishes in there, by course. I'd like it undulating, like constantly up and down the whole day. But nothing massive scene, scenery of, like, Mountains in the background and then the run and undulate and run again. No massive climbs, but just a tough man's course really just like Relentless all day, but with not any singular single massive climb. Yeah, to heavier than Chattanooga. I think know, like if I was going to make it, make it harder because it just breaks up a bit more, doesn't it? And when you've got like, nothing massive, but just constantly up and down. It just means that like you can't really sit in and get a free ride. Can you? Because in a lot of these, I'm races. Now, when you get like packs of light 810 people, you know, you're sitting in the back and you're doing like 200 Watts. You barely touching the pedals and it's not really, doesn't really test you properly. Those it on the bike, you know, it's almost like you get rewarded for see Eating in Saving yourself and not doing anything. And you don't really want to have that it, like people being able to win races like that, dear.

The ideal conditions for a cycling race would be around 65 degrees Fahrenheit in a scenic area with an undulating course that is not too hard but still challenging. It should be harder than Chattanooga, which means it should have constant ups and downs so that people can't just sit back and get a free ride.

For my ideal race, I would prefer conditions around 18-20 degrees Celsius (60-65 degrees Fahrenheit), not like the current situation with the pandemic. I would love a scenic location, similar to the beautiful waters of Switzerland, with crystal clear water where you can even see fishes swimming by. 

In terms of terrain, I would like the course to be undulating throughout the entire race, constantly going up and down. I envision a backdrop of mountains in the distance, creating a stunning scenery. While I don't want any massive climbs, I do want the course to be tough and relentless, challenging athletes throughout the day. 

I think it would be great to have a course that is tougher than Chattanooga, as it would break up the race and prevent riders from getting a free ride. In some races, when there are packs of 8-10 people, riders can sit in the back and barely pedal, which doesn't truly test their abilities. I believe a course with constant undulations would eliminate the ability to coast and reward those who push themselves consistently. Winning races should require true effort and not just strategic saving of energy.

Overall, my ideal race would combine scenic beauty, challenging undulations, and conditions that allow athletes to truly showcase their abilities.

What was the biggest achievement of your career?

Triathlete's Biggest Career Achievements: Surprising wins & top 10 at Kona

Biggest achievement in my career today, I would say one of them was or one that's really strikes me while. I was probably getting second Diamond, Texas back in 2015 because it was my first big breakthrough result. Like, I hadn't, I had done okay and like, other professional triathlons up until that date. But hadn't really one that much prized my life. I think my biggest win was, I challenge Weymouth, but there was no one really good there. Whereas I'm a North American championships. It was a regional. I meant at the time just under co-owner and had a really stacked field. Like I think Ben Huffman was there at the time. He was the biggest name and it just being s at Kona so to get s in that race and to lead it for a long period of the day was like an amazing result mean it was unexpected. Like I wasn't expecting to be that close to winning. You know, I was thinking like I might be top five or you know best get on the podium and that would be like, I'd scrape it, you know like but I almost want it and I thought, wow, what didn't see that one coming and one other Other race I would say is well is first time getting the top 10 in Kona, because I'd been there like twice before hand and the previous time. Before I did it. I had a terrible race and people always like I remember talking to one the other Pros there and he's like everyone else aims for a top 10, you know, like and trying to, you know, trying to make it sound. Like it was a lot harder than what it was. But so to get it the first time, was one of my Vlog, big breakthrough performances because then it meant that I could go there the following Her name for a top five or top six, you know, something a lot better because it was like I take the box of a top 10 because you can't say you want to go to Kona and go for a top five. If you haven't been top ten, it feels like you know, it's like a huge jump up. So to get finally in the top 10 of the of the world, Champs was definitely a big breakthrough because then it meant I could go back the following year and really say that I wanted to go for a, you know, a top, a top five.

My biggest achievement in my career to date was getting second place at the Diamond Texas Triathlon back in 2015 and also achieving a top 10 finish at the World Championships. Both of these results were unexpected but gave me the confidence to aim for even higher results in future races.

One of the biggest achievements in my career was getting second place at the Diamond, Texas triathlon in 2015. It was a breakthrough result for me, as I had performed decently in other professional triathlons but hadn't won any significant prizes. This race was a regional championship with a stacked field, including top athletes like Ben Hoffman. Leading the race for a significant portion of the day and finishing second was unexpected and an amazing result. I had initially anticipated a top-five finish or maybe making it onto the podium, so coming so close to winning was a pleasant surprise.

Another significant achievement was my first top-10 finish at the Kona World Championships. I had previously competed in Kona twice, with a terrible race in my last attempt. People often talk about aiming for a top-10 finish as a significant goal, making it sound more challenging than it is. So, achieving a top-10 finish for the first time was a breakthrough performance for me. It meant that I could set my sights higher for future races, aiming for a top-five or top-six finish. It was a milestone that allowed me to progress further in my career.

These achievements have been important milestones in my career, providing validation and opening up new opportunities for future success.
