Tonie Campbell

Tonie Campbell is an American former hurdler and bronze medallist at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. He also won the 1985 World Cup title in the 110m hurdles, the 1987 World Indoor Champion in the 60m hurdles, and was a three-time winner of the 110m hurdles at the IAAF Grand Prix Final. He was the 1982 NCAA Indoor Champion for 60-yard hurdles, and was due to compete at the 1980 Olympics, but was prevented by the boycott. Campbell was the youngest of a group that considered competing under the IOC flag. He qualified for the 1984 and 1988 Olympics and was ranked in the top ten of Track and Field News' world merit rankings eleven times (1980-90). He is married to English hurdler Michelle Edwards and their daughter Taylor Campbell is also a hurdler. Campbell coached former American footballer David Wilson in the triple jump prior to the 2016 US Olympic Trials.
