Did you play any other sports in High School other than Track?

One sport was the focus: Track in high school!

Hi Liv, thank you for the question. In high school I only ran. In middle school I played soccer and ran cross country but once I moved up I had to, you know, make the choice because I couldn't really run a 5k and then play a bunch of games in like a soccer tournament with my high school. So I definitely did miss it, not playing soccer, but yeah, just ran in high school.

In high school, I only participated in track. However, during middle school, I played soccer and ran cross country. Once I transitioned to high school, I had to make a choice between the two because it wasn't feasible to run a 5k race and then engage in multiple soccer games during a tournament. While I did miss playing soccer, I ultimately focused on track throughout my high school years.

What's your favorite part of working with On?

ON's Innovative Approach Blends Art and Athletics

So I would say my favorite part of working with ON is just their new take in how they represent their athletes and really investing into like the artistic side of the sport. Like when I went to New York for the New York Marathon, we went to the MoMA PS1 and they had a nice little exhibit and it really just made like running a little artsy and cool, like not just, you know, always just wearing like running gear. And it's really cool how they're just investing in a new space and really trying to grow the sport in a new way, especially going to my first of the on-track nights because there's three other meets that they'll have later in the year that'll be in Europe. So it was really cool to experience the first one here in the States before they go off to Paris, I believe is the next one. So yeah, very cool and new experience.

ON invests in the artistic side of running, like going to museums and hosting track nights. This is a new and cool way to represent athletes and grow the sport.

My favorite part of working with ON is their unique approach to representing athletes and their investment in the artistic side of the sport. What track stars did you look up to growing up?

Track Stars Who Inspired Me: Allison Felix and Ajay Wilson

Growing up, some track stars that I looked up to, I would say it's Allison Felix, especially seeing how successful she was early in her career going professional straight out of high school, and then Ajay Wilson because, you know, she's a really good 800 meter star, so I feel like I've been looking up to her ever since I first started running.

During my upbringing, there were two track stars that I looked up to. One of them is Allison Felix. I was inspired by her early success in her career, especially her transition to becoming a professional athlete right after high school. The other track star I admired is Ajay Wilson, known for her excellence in the 800 meters. Since the beginning of my running journey, I have been looking up to her as a role model.

Baylor Women's Tennis Team Makes History with Big 12 Title Win

My favorite memory from Baylor would be winning the Big 12 team title in 2017. It was the first time that the Baylor women have been able to do that and it was really special to be a part of like the first group. There was so many great Baylor Bears before me, which was really nice to lead up to a big reason of why I wanted to go to Baylor. So it was really special given how small our team was and really had some big hitters on the team. So to have it all come together and celebrate it was really special.

My favorite memory from Baylor is winning the Big 12 team title in 2017. It was an incredible achievement, especially because it was the first time the Baylor women's team had accomplished it. Being part of the first group to make history felt truly special. Baylor has had many outstanding athletes before me, and their legacy played a significant role in my decision to attend the university. Considering the relatively small size of our team, it was even more remarkable to see everything come together and celebrate this milestone. It remains a cherished and unforgettable memory for me.

What was it like to be a college athlete during Covid times?

College Athletes Navigate COVID Challenges: Isolation, Testing, Adaptation

COVID, being a college athlete was definitely some crazy times. I feel like I got tested so much. We got tested bi-weekly, every Wednesday and Sunday. So we didn't really have much freedom to go anywhere. But it was pretty isolating, I would say. I couldn't really see my family too much. I didn't wanna risk being contact traced with friends or family. So it was a tough time, but I feel like it was just something we all had to go through and you learn from and also just learn, I guess, a little bit more about the process and all that it takes for us to be able to compete. I mean, it was insane how much our trainers worked to make sure we were healthy, making all the notes about contact tracing and making sure we were aware who to be around and who not to be around. So it was hard, especially for team camaraderie purposes, but it's just the cards we were dealt at the time.

Being a college athlete during COVID was very isolating. I had to get tested bi-weekly and be careful who I was around. It was hard, but it taught me more about the process of competing.

Being a college athlete during COVID was definitely a unique experience. We had to undergo frequent testing, getting tested every Wednesday and Sunday. This meant our freedom to go anywhere was limited. It felt quite isolating as I couldn't spend much time with my family, fearing the risk of being contact traced and potentially affecting them or my friends. It was a challenging time, but it was something we all had to navigate and learn from. The process also shed light on the tremendous efforts our trainers put in to ensure our health and safety. They meticulously tracked contact tracing, providing us with guidance on who to be around and who to avoid. Maintaining team camaraderie was difficult given the circumstances, but we made the best of the situation we were dealt with at that time.

What did it feel like to be a candidate for Big 12 Athlete of the Year?

Reflecting on the Honor of Big 12 Athlete of the Year Candidacy

Hi, thank you for the question of what did it feel like to be the Big 12 Athlete of the Year candidate. I thought it was really cool, especially trying to make my resume and talk about what I've done. It was really cool just to reflect on everything that I was able to accomplish, but also how much the Big 12 was able to give to me. I mean, the conference is pretty strong and I feel like I went through some good years and some bad years, so it was nice to be recognized for that. But also just to be picked, like the only Baylor athlete, or I guess each school picks an athlete, but to be the representative for my university was really cool, so I feel like that was special in itself.

It was a cool experience to be a Big 12 Athlete of the Year candidate, as it was a great opportunity to reflect on all of my accomplishments and to represent my university.
