Rob Butcher traded his business suit for a wetsuit when his mom passed away from appendix cancer in 2008. He became the executive director of U.S. Masters Swimming, growing membership and revenue, and spearheaded a new adult learn-to-swim instructors program. In 2015, he joined the board of Swim Across America, becoming its executive director the next year. He's raised over $65M for cancer research and clinical trial grants, and hosts swims in 10 cities with the support of 100 Olympians. He encourages aquatics facilities to host benefit swims to attract millennials and do something good for mankind.
