You work in athletic, alumni relations at Texas who are some of the most fun alumni to bring back to the 40 acres. Well, that's kind of a loaded question. That's like asking me to pick my favorite child. I would say that obviously, the men's and women's swimming swimmers and divers. Are it's for me the most enjoyable just because I know so many of them. However, you know, I've been here so long at the University of Texas that I, you know, know most of the former student athletes coming back and they're all have their own unique cultures in sport which is really kind of fun to watch and see but no matter the group, when they get into the same room, it's like a day hasn't gone by and that makes my heart sing. So it's always fun to bring those people back and watch them connect and enjoy boy and relive their time at the 40 acres. Thank you.

It's hard to pick a favorite alumni group, but the most enjoyable for me are the men's and women's swimming swimmers and divers. No matter which alumni you bring back, it's always fun to watch them connect and enjoy the nostalgia of their time at Texas.

Any tips for improving the second 25 of the 50 free? I thought what Ray and Roland said we're spot on. Those are some great things I think really working on your speed into, and out of your turn, being able to take that to take your speed off of the walls. A lot of times, I'd like to time, you know, people from 15 meter Mark in and out off that wall because your turn is essential And you've got to be able to carry your speed off of that. I also think you're finished obviously is important as well and your you got to maintain your speed through the through the end but really timing your finish. I think a lot of people kind of forget to zero in on targeting their finish so that they finished with a straight arm and then kind of crash into the wall instead of finishing with a half stroke or you know and really reaching rolling and And reaching on your side so that you know you're really timing you're finished. Well I would think both of those things could help improve your second 25, good luck.

Long-awaited outdoor pool at Texas adds unique dimension

My first question ever. So here we go. How awesome is that? New outdoor pool at Texas and took a long time to become a reality. But worth the wait question mark. It's absolutely beautiful. I love it. I wish it would have been around when I was swimming or coaching but it wasn't. But it's it adds such a unique Dimension to to a coach to be able to You know, kind of create workouts in various different ways. Obviously, when you've got two teams working out at the same time and a long course, indoor pool, you're limited to four lanes each. So the flexibility it brings to have indoor outdoor long course, short course. I mean the day you want to do anything you can so that some completely amazing, I'd love it. Thank you. Bye.

Having the flexibility of indoor and outdoor, long course and short course options is fantastic. It allows for more versatility, especially when multiple teams are training simultaneously. 1976 Olympic Upset: A Thrilling Victory and Priceless Smiles

So the question is, can you describe your emotions pre and post 4 by 100 free relay in the 1976 Olympics? And yes, I guess I can. First of all, please remember, I was 15. So pretty. I was just kind of a deer in headlights, but I was also with three of my comrades on the relay. So I, you know, there's, there's always power. And numbers. So we had a job to do. We knew what lay ahead was going to be pretty tough, but we were pretty focused. So I mean I was pretty much Jordan and focus on what my job was to do on that relay afterwards. When we one broke a world record and beat the East Germans which nobody thought was possible, it was just sheer Joy Elation to see Shirley smile, the way she smiled was priceless. Yes. And you know even when I watch the race today, I still get goosebumps and just a thrilling thrilling Victory and fun to be a part of something that was such a huge upset, accomplishment, / best one of the best ever realize. Before the race, I was focused and a bit nervous but excited. After we won and broke the world record, the feeling of joy and elation was unbeatable.

Afterwards, when we broke the world record and defeated the East Germans, who were considered unbeatable, it was pure joy and elation. Seeing the smile on Shirley's face was priceless. Even today, when I watch the race, I still get goosebumps. It was an incredible victory and an honor to be part of such a monumental upset and achievement.
