I like this question a lot. It's one of the reasons why I started walking in races with dad actually. And that, you know, I can tell him thank you every day, but do I put my words into action? For me, training every day, you know, having a proper mindset that I have the right training to trust my training is very valuable for me and just having the opportunity to not only say stuff and be grateful for what my parents and my family have given me, but to have the opportunity to demonstrate that is very, very important. I try to do that every day, and I encourage you to do the same too.

I started walking and running races with my dad in order to demonstrate, rather than just talk about, gratitude for the opportunities my family has provided me. I believe it is important to not only be thankful but to put words into action. I encourage others to do the same.

Overcoming Labels: Lessons on Achieving More Than Expected

So mom and I have a book called The Impossible Mile and this is a great question. I really enjoy it a lot. The biggest lesson that mom and I wanted to tell people in writing the book was to not let people label you in a certain way. A lot of people said I couldn't do this, I couldn't do that. But mom and dad and my family really found ways to support me and understand what I couldn't do, not focus on what I couldn't do. So I'm very thankful for that and that opened up many doors for me. So I wanted to tell people that if you take on life one step at a time and not worry about the daunting task in front of you, you can achieve much more than you ever thought.

The biggest lesson mom and I wanted to tell people in writing The Impossible Maya was to not let people label you, focus on what you can do instead of what you cannot do, and take life one step at a time.

This is a very good question. I really like it a lot, but I think it's a product of who you're around. It's very important to surround yourself with positive people that are only going to help you in life, rather than take you down. For me, I can't do things alone. It's always been a necessity for me to have someone to help me. So just the environment that you surround yourself with is really going to help you in life and really help you understand the challenges in front of you and help you to conquer them, rather than showing you how daunting they are and not showing the steps that you can take to conquer them. So I really like this question a lot, thank you for it. For me having a sweet body it can be very, very easy for me to assume that I am incapable of conquering my own challenges, but for me I think it all comes down to mindset and how you approach things and just keeping a positive attitude about things because it's going to be, you're going to have a lot of failures in between when you are conquering your own challenges to overcome, but as long as you stay persistent and don't ever give up I think that's going to help you a lot in the long run.
