How do you determine how many steps to take in between each hurdle?

Okay, so in general, there are three steps in between each hurdle when you first touched down, that's called a touchdown step. So, ordinarily, hurdlers don't count that particular step, they count when the trail lid comes over, then the next step from the lead leg and then the following step from the trail leg which will push off and go through the next hurdle. So it's three steps even though it looks. As for, we only count the last three in between You want to make sure that you have the same lead leg at every hurdle so that you will be efficient and that your times will be fast.

How would I describe the training dynamic between myself and Alan Johnson? Well, quite frankly, Alan was a mentor, a big brother, kind of like my cheat sheet. I thoroughly enjoyed working out with him, learning from him, understanding the inner workings of being a world and Olympic champion. I got to see Alan train every day, prepare for the big meets. His work ethic was unmatched and the way he was consistent in his training and his preparation helped me out a great deal. It afforded me basically a Hall of Fame career. And so I owe him a lot to that. He's been a great inspiration and continues to be a mentor even to this day.

Allen Johnson was an inspirational mentor to me and I owe him a lot for helping me have a Hall of Fame career. His work ethic and preparation helped me learn the inner workings of being a world and Olympic champion and continues to inspire me even today.

Terrence Trammell is a retired American track and field athlete. He was the silver medalist for the 110-meter hurdles at the 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympics, and a three-time silver medalist for the World Championships. He was born in Atlanta, GA and trained with his high school coach Napoleon Cobb. Trammell attended the University of South Carolina and was the 1999-2000 NCAA Champion Indoors and Outdoors. In 2008, he qualified for the Beijing Olympics but had to pull out of the competition after injuring his hamstring in the preliminary rounds. He retired in 2015 and was elected to the National Track and Field Hall of Fame in 2021. He currently coaches at Pace Academy in Atlanta.
