What are the top five priorities in your life?

Making the most of each day, looking ahead and planning for the future, making an impact, listening, and making money while I sleep are all important values to me.

Transcript: "Michael. I like this question a lot and I've actually tried to give you some thoughtful ances, instead of just spitting out. The first things that come to my head. I really tried to focus in here. So here we go. In no particular order necessarily, but the first one is making the most of each day, you know, like truly being thankful for being alive and waking up. I never used to think like that as a kid. I used to think that I was going to live forever. Some reason, once I turned 40, that started to shift. And just being super effective in the day that I have. Like making the most of the day, like I used to waste time. I don't waste time anymore. I try and be, you know, I put time where it's needed, you know, if I need to rest, I don't consider that wasting time, but if I need to work, if I need to multitask, I do that too. So making the most of each day. Number two, I put down looking ahead and planning for the future. Again. I never used to think that far ahead. And I used to think it'll all take care of itself. I don't care. I don't worry. Now I'm planning for the future. You know, I want, I can see myself at 65 and how not, not that far necessarily from that, you know, got used to come but I didn't look at life like that before I just was reckless. In that sense. Now, I'm looking ahead. I'm planning for the future. The third thing I put down here is making an impact, you know, swimming has been my life's passion. I feel like I've truly started to make an impact and Way that we look at storming, the way that we think about swimming. Even on this platform here, helping build this swimming channel. It's making an impact on the future of swimming and I'm super proud of that and the podcast itself inside with bread, Hulk. It's making an impact number four. I put listening. This is a key for me. You know, I truly listening, listening to my girlfriend listening to my children. And I tried to just listen to their needs more and and being being there when I can and making changes where I need to make changes, but just but truly listening to their needs. Number five. I put down making money while I sleep. Now. Why would I put this down here again? I think that I used to wake up every day, and I'm going to work. I make a living and I'd go to sleep and I'd start over again. And while I was sleeping money was coming out of my paycheck, you know, like bills. Now, I think about going to sleep and having money come into my paycheck money into my bank account. While I'm sleeping, you know, I want money coming in while I'm sleeping. So, one of the ways that I can make that happen and it's interesting when you start to think of it like that, you start to take control of your own life, a little more. So I hope those hope man."

Do you love to win or hate to lose?

I'm not that thrilled when I win, and it doesn't bother me too much when I lose. What really bothers me is when I don't live up to the standards I set for myself or when I let myself down by losing to someone I shouldn't have. That's when I get really frustrated.

What is your biggest swimming pet peeve?

My biggest pet peeve when it comes to swimming is when swimmers don't hold their streamlines. To help with this, I suggest that swimmers swim with purpose during warm-ups and practice, so that when race day comes, they don't have to think about the basics.
