Doula Training: A Game-Changer for Chiropractors

The question is, how did doula training help you as a chiropractor? So this actually helped me a lot. So during my doula training, we learned about birth and what that looks like. We learned more about pregnancy. We learned about the stages of labor. We learned about different modalities to help decrease pain during labor. We learned about different options when it comes to different interventions, both the pros and the cons of certain interventions. We learned how to make a c-section beautiful. We learned how to make the partner, husband, spouse, whatever that looks like, look like a rock star. So actually, my doula training helped me tremendously in understanding the birth process. And especially getting a different lens from a different profession helped me tremendously too. And it also helped me to make community connections within my community. So looking for the good, certified, qualified doulas that I trust for my practice members to use I think is also huge as well. So really, it helped me to be a better chiropractor, just from the perspective of learning more about birth, the different interventions that are used, both the pros and the cons, different tools that you can use to help decrease pain during pregnancy, birth, and labor, more about the postpartum experience. So if anything, it did help me tremendously to really understand that part, to better serve our practice members. And then it also helped me to create more community connections within my own community for our practice members as well.

Doula training has been extremely beneficial for me as a chiropractor. During the training, I gained knowledge about the birth process, including pregnancy, stages of labor, and pain management techniques during labor. I also learned about different interventions and their pros and cons. Additionally, I learned how to support partners and make the birthing experience positive, even in cases of c-sections. Having this additional perspective from a different profession has greatly enhanced my understanding of birth and helped me become a better chiropractor. Furthermore, it has allowed me to establish connections within the community, enabling me to recommend trusted doulas to my practice members. Overall, doula training has enhanced my ability to serve our practice members by deepening my understanding of birth, postpartum experiences, and pain management tools during pregnancy and labor. It has also facilitated community connections for the benefit of our practice members.

What inspired you to pursue a career in helping others through chiropractic care?

Chiropractic Care: A Personal Journey of Inspiration

What inspired you to pursue a career in helping others through chiropractic care? So definitely different for each chiropractor, which is so interesting listening to everyone's story and how they found chiropractic, or rather how chiropractic found them. So my inspiration was my mom, who back in the 90s was pregnant with my sister and was having a horrendous pregnancy, and a lot of her providers were dismissing her and her pain because she was a woman and she felt pain differently, or that she was carrying a boy when really she was actually carrying a girl, but these were all things that were told to her. Finally, as a last resort, she went to the chiropractor, and the chiropractor was the first person to actually listen to her and clinically put together the pieces, again based on her history too. So she also had an autoimmune condition, but put the pieces together clinically to make sure that she got further testing and imaging done, which they found that she had an abscess that was pressing on her and the baby that could have ended very poorly, rather. So, very bad outcomes. So, from that moment on, she made sure that we were adjusted as kids as well, and then going through this lifestyle, you know, by getting adjusted since I was a little kid, it kind of just felt right when I decided to pursue chiropractic after college, and then also to really specialize in pregnancy, the perinatal period, and really with kiddos. So, that's my personal journey into why I pursued a career in helping others through chiropractic care.

My inspiration to pursue a career in helping others through chiropractic care was my mom's experience with it. She was pregnant and had an autoimmune condition, but the chiropractor was the first provider who listened to her and clinically put together the pieces to find out she had an abscess that was pressing on her and the baby. This experience inspired me to specialize in pregnancy and perinatal care.

Feeling unheard, she turned to chiropractic care as a last resort. The chiropractor was the first person to genuinely listen to her and clinically assess her situation based on her history. They discovered that she had an abscess pressing on her and the baby, which could have had serious consequences. This experience made my mom prioritize chiropractic care for our family, and receiving adjustments since childhood just felt right to me. After college, I decided to pursue chiropractic and specialize in pregnancy, the perinatal period, and working with children. It's a personal journey that fuels my passion for helping others through chiropractic care.

Do you have any success stories of clients who have seen amazing results from your treatments?

Life-Changing Success Stories: Transformations from Our Care

Do you have success stories of clients who have seen amazing results from your treatments? We say care in our office instead of treatments. Yes, we... There have been so many success stories that have happened, not just in our office, but in other offices like ours across the country. A couple off the top of my head, we have had infants and kiddos and toddlers and even adults who are now have regular bowel movements, who are constipated before and stuck on Miralax and enemas and x-rays. We have kiddos who aren't wetting the bed anymore and even teens who are not wetting the bed anymore, which is so big. We also have babies who are feeding better. We also have babies who have stopped having types of reflux, who have Alcarone, their diagnosis, with whatever that may be. We have babies who are walking, who weren't walking before. We serve a lot of kiddos with special gifts, so especially in the autism world, ADHD, neurodivergent world as well. And we have seen kids sleep through the night, which is huge, who are starting to talk, who weren't talking before, which is such a big thing. We have kiddos who are focusing better. Really, really awesome stories that we obviously have on our website and our social media platforms. We have parents and teenagers not experiencing as much anxiety, who are doing big things, who used to struggle with their anxiety. Just so many incredible success stories. We have moms who are having the best labor and birth possible, who are having the labor and birth of their dreams. And on and on and on, but these are just some of the success stories off the top of my head.

We have seen a lot of success stories in our office and other offices like ours. We have seen infants, toddlers, and adults have regular bowel movements, stop wetting the bed, feed better, have their reflux go away, start to talk, focus better, have less anxiety, and have the best labor and birth possible.

Are there success stories of clients experiencing amazing results from our care? Yes, there have been numerous success stories not only in our office but also in similar offices across the country. Some examples include infants, children, and even adults who no longer experience constipation and have achieved regular bowel movements without relying on medications like Miralax or enemas. We've had children and teenagers who have stopped bedwetting, which is a significant accomplishment. Babies have shown improvements in feeding and reflux symptoms. We've witnessed babies taking their first steps when they previously couldn't walk. Our care extends to children with special needs, such as those on the autism spectrum or with ADHD, where we've seen improvements in sleep patterns, speech development, and focus. Parents and teenagers have reported reduced anxiety levels and are now able to achieve their goals with greater ease. We also have mothers who have had empowering labor and birth experiences that align with their dreams. These are just a few examples of the incredible success stories we have documented on our website and social media platforms.
