First and foremost doesn't matter if this is your birth first baby that you are breastfeeding or your seventh baby that you are breastfeeding Finding your support Finding other moms to share in the victories and struggles of feeding your baby no matter what that looks like breastfeeding is a full-time job and It is a lot of work and it can you know cause a lot of negative challenges like increase in anxiety Anxiety pain but also a lot of positive benefits as well And you want to make sure that you are finding your local moms who can Share in that support with you and then also finding really good local providers like a chiropractor like a pediatric PT Like a lactation consultant like a postpartum doula making sure that your village of providers is stacked It's gonna be huge just as resources to go to when things aren't going well when you are feeding your baby And it's not going well, or it's painful or you are experiencing anxiety or any of that What I always suggest is just take baby off the breast Take three deep breaths and then try again and then of course making sure that you're always hydrated and that you're eating Because again it is a full-time job And you're using a ton of energy to be able to produce milk and then also to provide your baby with nutrition. So first and foremost making sure that you find your small group of support with other mothers to share in those victories and struggles and Then your big provider support group.

Also, your local hospital should have breastfeeding resources for you as well. If you're working with any providers, like a chiropractor, like a pelvic floor PT, like a perinatal trainer, like a sleep consultant, they should also be able to recommend good quality support people for your team to help with breastfeeding, or really any type of feeding that you are providing your baby as well. There should be local support groups for you. Like I know at our office and our clinic, we do have a postpartum support group that does include breastfeeding support group as well. And it's always nice to connect with other moms and other parents who are, you know, sharing their struggles and also their victories because there's nothing like community and the support that community can provide. So in conclusion, to really sum up, your La Leche League is a great resource to look, again, to find because it's worldwide. And then your hospital should have some support groups like your local hospitals with good OB-GYN programs. And then again, any local providers, your mommy groups on Facebook, they should be able to help you as well to find good quality people for your team.
