Um yeah. So how does an athlete find a coach for surfing? I think the best is to wherever your local Breakers and wherever there's like good waves and good Surfers around. There's going to be coaches. So for me, I had a coach from when I was 12 years old. When I started doing competition, it was somebody who I really respected, they were great sir for themselves, and I just everything they said just made sense to me. So, this particular guy, Was Clinton Jones, we call them Q Jay, and I really connected with him. And I think one of the big things was he was just a very incredible Surfer himself. So, everything you said, to me, I found was very credible, but God, they are so many serve, coaches, around the world that there's online. Serve coaches is serve courses. A lot of the top Pros are doing serve courses. I've got a, in online learning platform for surfing, which I'll share in the link. so, there's plenty of waves to improve, when surfing

Surfboard Wax: The Key to Optimal Performance!

Yeah, so if you're going from cold water to warm water and you've been using cold water wax, you have to remove the wax from your board and put warm water wax on. However, if this is the reason is that the cold water is hard, it's softer to account for getting harder in cold water. So if you take that soft wax into warm water, it will melt and you'll be sliding around. However, if you've got warm water wax on your board and you go from warm water to cold water, you can keep the wax on because warm water wax gets much harder in cold water and forms a base. And if you wax cold water wax, which is softer over that for the cold water, then you'll have a nice hard base, which is what you want, with the stickier cold water wax on top. People also would de-wax their boards if their wax is starting to go a bit dirty. And that's kind of a really good feeling. It gives like new life to a surfboard when you re-wax it, when you de-wax it and then re-wax it with fresh white wax. And the old board can look pretty new again.

If you are going from cold water to warm water, you have to remove the cold water wax and replace it with warm water wax. If you are going from warm water to cold water, you can keep the wax on since warm water wax is harder and forms a base for the cold water wax which is softer. Re-waxing your board with fresh wax gives it a new life.

The reason for this is it's long, it's wide, it's thick. And all of those things create volume. And volume is makes the board way. More stable, it adds stability and it also allows you to Pedal faster so you can actually catch the waves because in the beginning catching waves is probably the biggest challenge. So in the beginning, using a big board and then as you progress, you'll go down to maybe a minimal, which is like a board in the 7 foot range. That's kind of the intermediate between a short board and a longboard. The, many mode gives you stability and paddle power, but because it's a bit shorter and you can get more maneuverability and then as you get better, you'll be going down to a board, that's close to your height. So, in general, good Surfer, and small waves is using a board. That's the same height as the I'm six foot four. So that's really tall for surface in. My short board is actually two inches shorter. I write a 62 as my short board but most of my friends who are in the six foot range or like 511, 510, they will ride the same size board and then you can make stuff for sure. Like, if you want to get like a board for really small pop waves and you might even go shorter and wider and flatter, but it's kind of all about where your surf level is at.

And also because of the length, it helps you to paddle into the waves easier. I always suggest when learning to surf higher, a long board. And once you progress from that and you want to be more maneuverable, then you can move down to a mini mull easily. So a mini mull is like around a seven foot six. That's the standard size for a mini mull. A long board is nine foot long. So a mini mull, a little bit shorter, it still has the stability, but it's because it's shorter, you have more maneuverability. And then if you kind of stepping it up a bit, you'd use a short board. So pretty much a board that is the same height as you. And that's going to be more difficult to catch the waves, but it's going to give you a lot more performance. So maneuverability turning left to right. Yeah, basically, also, if you if you're riding a board in very steep waves, you want it to have more rocker because that fits into the steeper curl of the wave. If you're riding a flatter wave, you want a board that's flatter because that'll help you to go faster. And that also fits nicely into a flatter curve of the wave.

When learning to surf, it's best to use a longboard that is around 7 feet 6 inches. Once you progress and want more maneuverability, you can move down to a minimal board which is slightly shorter than a longboard. The rocker of the board should be adjusted depending on the type of waves you're riding.

Hey, so I would recommend try to pay as less as possible for your surf for your first surfboard. The reason being is you probably not going to have want to be on that surfboard for too long so when you starting off you want to be on a board that's really big wide thick because all of that makes volume and volume allows the board to be a lot, more stable and paddle faster through the water. So when you start off, you're probably going to be on a longboard and that's to get your balance to get a bit of a way. - out on the water, some ocean knowledge, but then as you progress, you're going to want to start doing more Maneuvers. You're going to want a shorter board. So I would say, almost for your first and your second board. You're going to go from a longboard, maybe term anymore. So long words are like nine foot or bigger. Many miles are like seven foot, six range. That's like a typical money more size and then as you improve your going to want to get better and better. Because as you improve your paddling in proves you want to Turn in title arcs and have more performance your surfing. So you're going to need a smaller board and that's maybe when is a good time to Splash out and pay a little bit more for board that, you know, that you're going to use for a long time?
