My favorite camera brand is Sony and I am a brand ambassador for their Alpha 9 series. Transcript: "Interesting question. What's my favorite camera brand? Do you guys follow me on Instagram? Full disclosure, I'm a brand ambassador for Sony, Sony Europe Alpha 9 specifically. But really, I can't use anything I don't love. I would never be an ambassador for anything I don't really stand with my own, with my heart. And Sony has changed the game in sports photography by bringing out the first mirrorless designed for sports photography, and it just changed the way I work, and I can get so many more amazing moments with my Sony. So I'm super, super happy with it, and yeah, so there you go."
Instagram's recent focus on videos and content creation has caused them to emphasize videos over photos, but photography is still very much alive. True photography enthusiasts will continue to pursue the craft despite Instagram's shift in focus. Transcript: "Instagram says photos are dead. What do you think this like nice' saying, God is dead? Or we have to be there. Anyway, um, what do I think about this? I think Instagram gave photos, sort of A different kind of value than before it was reachable by everybody. Everybody contributed in taking sharing consuming photos so much more than before. So maybe Instagrams Focus shifted to more like Tick-Tock e like videos with music and and like content creation. So maybe Instagram viewers maybe even me included like we want to we want to watch something that's a little bit longer than just if I get it for Instagram it could be dead but what a photo does you can never replicate in video and real put true photographers we're out for that one image. I mean I I love the idea of video and moving images and everything but I'm a photographer and I will defend photography a little bit more than what Instagram wants to say but hopefully photography is still here too. Stay even though I get it, maybe they don't get enough views but yeah still photography is not dead."
I don't regret anything because I think we win or learn from every experience and I'm happy with where I am. Everything happens for a reason, so I focus on what I've learned from experiences rather than regretting them. Transcript: "Alright, let's try this one. What's my biggest, professional regret? Oh yeah, whoo, yeah, whoo, I'm joking. I can't say, but I don't regret anything. I don't want to focus on regret. I don't think that's not good. That's good for anything. I think we win or we learn from every experience. And I'm really happy with, with where I am. And of course, there's been Things that I've done wrong. And of course, there are things that I would have, would be a radically change. But in a way also, not because everything that's happened, brought me to where I am and will bring many more things. So I think, Instead of focusing, what I've what I regret I just want to focus on what I've learned from everything and everything. I believe everything happens for a reason, I believe we all have a path and if we listen to our heart and that leads us always to the right direction. And really, really, I I can't think of anything, I regret, which is, I guess a good thing. Yeah."
My favorite podcasts include Joe Rogan, I'm a Crime Junkie, and the Swimming Podcast with Brendon Hawk. Transcript: "Hello, coming to you from the beach today. What's my favorite podcast? It's a good question, because I listen to a lot of podcasts, especially when I'm editing, like, thousands of photos going through, and I've listened to one podcast for years, and that's Joe Rogan. And I used to listen to him before he was on Spotify, I would put it on YouTube in the background of my editing and just listen to him for hours because he's just so I don't know, just so real. I just really, like, I don't know, I always liked listening to Joe Rogan and now he became really, really famous, but I still do listen to him. Another thing, I listen to a lot is I'm a crime junkie. I love True Crime and I don't know, like, for the last two years or something. I got into a lot of listening to a lot of True Crime. If you guys want to know more ask, but yeah, I love crime. Junkie is my favorite and And a third one is, of course, the swimming podcast with bread Hawk, I love it. Love the way he talks. It's just so soothing. So those three podcasts are really my, my eye. Yeah, I try not to miss those."
I prefer the Winter Olympics because of the speed of the events and my love for skiing, snowboarding, and figure skating. Transcript: "Do I prefer the winter or the Summer Olympics? I love the Summer Olympics. I love you guys know. I love taking photos of swimmers for the last four years. I've been, you know, taking so many photos of swimming and I'm Ben. I've been loving it. I also love taking photos of Athletics, gymnastics beach volleyball, all great. But if I look at it as a whole, I have to go with Winter Games because of the speed. Everything's on ice. The sledding, the skiing, the snowboarding, the figure skating. I love it. I'm a winter. Girl, I come from skiing and snowboarding myself. I used to be a snowboard racer and sorry for all the swimmers, but I just am a huge fan of the winter games, but I also love with him."
I took a photo of Chad swimming in a sports arena, which was similar to one I had taken in 2018. He told me it was the best photo he had ever seen of himself and that's where my journey as a swim photographer began. Transcript: "Okay. This is one of my favorite shots little reflection here. So you can't maybe see it as clearly as you can. Maybe I like that. This is Chad swimming here in sports arena and it was a very similar shot. I did of Chad, our first session ever back in 2018. And I was a big fan of him, because I'd seen him in many games, I've photographed him in London Games when he won his gold medal and also in even in Singapore, I've known I've known him for a really long time and ran into him here. Did a shoot very similar to this and I showed it to him here at dinner and he told me that's the best photo I've ever seen of myself. So it was so special and that's sort of like the beginning of my my swim photography. Career started with a photo very similar to this right here and I just love it and yeah, so that's what I'd like to share."
