What is your current role in the military community? Well, I served in the United States Marine Corps for four years active duty deployed to Iraq twice. And currently, I'm a veteran. So I've been out of the military for a number of years. And I serve active duty in military and veterans at the VA as a licensed clinical social worker or a therapist, running a veteran mental health center.

What's up guys? What is your current role in the military community? So I am retired. You know there's a big distinction between retired and former and oftentimes the news and a lot of these outlets get it wrong. If you were former that means you served in the military with honor, you did a great job and you know obviously you decide to get out before the 20-year mark. Those who served over 20 years or you were injured to the point that they medically retired you, that means you retired. Meaning you served with honor for a long career. I have the distinction of doing both. A lot of us that did that you know I served 21 years and I was medically retired because of my injuries. What do I do now? I am a big veteran advocate. I want to support our veterans. I want to look to get veterans hired. I want to look to take care of our veterans with post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, CTE. These are the things I'm focused on now in the military community.

Currently in the military community, I help veterans transition from active duty to civilian life. I do that with the help of organizations that take veterans hunting or fishing or doing nature hikes, getting out in the outdoors. And also currently I'm working on a book to help veterans deal with post-traumatic stress and just staying in touch with my fellow veterans and helping out other members of the military community as they transition from a civilian into the military.

I'm a retired United States Air Force pararescue man. I was medically retired in 2014. Honorably, I'd like to say I miss the clowns. I don't miss the circus. So I immediately went into contracting as a security contractor in high threat protection with the United States State Department. I've been doing that since 2012 where I had overlap with time off before I was retired in 2014. I've been doing that job in various locations, but my primary location was Kabul Afghanistan until the fall in August September of 2021. I most recently came back from a contract over in Kazakhstan where I was teaching tactical medicine and I'm hoping that this will be the next stage of my career.

So my current role with the military is I am in the Mississippi Air National Guard as a tactical air control party JTAC and doing the traditional guardsman role. However I'm also on full-time activation orders serving as an instructor for the National Guard Bureau's counter drug program providing training in tactical medicine to members of the American law enforcement community.
