All right, the best way to answer this question is to show you. Over here we have two weapons with sights on them. On this weapon we have a scope. If I'm going to the range and I'm engaging a target at 50 yards, this optic will allow me to see the target closer and clearer. This provides no added magnification. It simply provides an aiming assist with a red dot that comes on when I turn the optic on. And on this weapon, it doesn't have any sort of aim assist other than the iron sights. I would use this weapon for longer range hunts, anything about 100 yards and out. And then for these two, I would use these mainly for within 50 yards. All right, hope that answers your question.

The VA's Transformation: More Options for Veteran Care

Great question, Steve. When it comes to getting care at the VA, you do have to remember that they are a government organization. And just like in the military, there's a lot of hurry up and wait when it comes to getting what you need. I'm very happy with how the VA has transformed with the Community Care Act being passed recently. I can now see a provider outside of the VA and still get the care I need at a more convenient time and more convenient place. Like when I was in North Carolina, there wasn't a lot of options for VA clinics, so they would send me to local doctors, local dentists to get the care that I needed. It's come a long way and there's still areas for improvement, but we're getting there.

The VA has come a long way with the Community Care Act being passed, allowing veterans to get care outside of the VA at more convenient times and places. There are still areas for improvement, but overall it has been a positive transformation.

While there is still room for improvement, we are making strides in addressing this issue.

Howdy, Diane. If you're interested in joining the Air Force and you have autism, the short answer is it really depends. Okay, it depends on the level of autism that you have and the abilities that you have to overcome autism. It's not a direct no, it's just a hard hill to climb. There are waivers that would probably have to be signed and unfortunately it's hard to hide those things nowadays as opposed to when I was in where if you said no to everything they didn't really question it, but now they have access to your full medical records when you are being recruited. What I can tell you is if you work really hard and you try to do everything you can, good things are going to work out for you. Hey Noah, that's a great question. I prepared myself mentally to go to boot camp. The physicalness will take care of itself. I got in my head that I wasn't going to let somebody break me. I wasn't going to let the dribble instructors make me quit. No matter what they threw at me, I was going to give it my all because I didn't want to come home a quitter. And that's, I think, one of the single most important things you can do going to boot camp is realize that it's just a couple phases. There is the real Army, the real Marines after this, and it doesn't define what happens to you for the next four, six, however many years you're in the military. Just get your mind right, man.

Now if you're in the military currently, make sure that you are documenting everything. Make sure that your medical records are in order. Make sure that every bump, scratch, everything gets documented. You know, if you developed asthma while in the military due to sand or that sort of thing, make sure it's documented. That's going to help speed the process up, but it is still a government run organization that operates on government time. There's a lot of hurry up and wait. They want you to get something done fast and they on the other hand don't. My best piece of advice, be patient and don't give up.

Travis Kiser is an assistant coach for the Gardner-Webb men's and women's swimming program. Prior to coaching, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps, with deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Kiser holds a Masters of Science in Sports Management from Texas A&M, a Masters in Education and Curriculum, and a certificate in Advanced International Affairs. At Texas A&M, he helped train athletes to compete in the SEC Championships, NCAA Championships, World Championship meets, World University Games and Olympic Trials.
