Marine Corps Infantry - Veteran Mental Health
Mike Ergo is a former Marine rifleman who served from 2001-2005 and deployed to Iraq twice. After returning from combat, Mike struggled with PTSD and addiction. In 2012, he faced a defining moment: choose his addictive habits or his wife. He chose his wife. In order to heal and process his trauma, he found comfort in meditation and endurance sports. He currently works as a readjustment counselor and uses his blog, “Transition from War” as a way to inspire others to set and crush their own limits. Mike hopes his own experience and wisdom can help fellow combat veterans make positive changes in their lives.
