What are some of your favorite non-bourbon spirits?

My favorite non-bourbon spirits include rye, American single malt, absinthe, French brandies (like Armagnac and Cognac), and American brandy.

Transcript: "What are some of your favorite non bourbon spirits? Well, I'll start with the easy one and that's why some people say they don't like Rye but they like bourbon and that doesn't really make a lot of sense to me. Maybe you've been biased against try because somebody's told you how spicy it is, but that's not really the case in every situation. So I would challenge you to try again and try to find something that's not sourced. Much of the rise in the United States, is sourced from 12 still Hurry. So if you keep trying that right over and over again, then you're not going to like it. So try something different. Something that you know what, Distillery it came from. Another one is American single malt. That's going to be similar to scotch. And some people say, oh, I don't like Scotch, I don't like Pete. Well, you're in luck American single. Malt largely is not peated. There is some that is there some that is treated in other ways. But American single, most one of the fastest growing areas in American. That's if you want to get a little more esoteric, you can go to Absinthe which there's a lot you can learn about absinthe. It's a lot of fun to drink French Brandis like Armagnac cognac, those are really good as well, and American brand new such as Apple Brandy. Don't miss out there. So those are just a few of my favorite non bourbon spirits."

Award Winning Distiller
Hey guys, for what are some of my favorites? Non bourbon Spirits. So I absolutely love the tentacle Spirits, particularly absent, real absent, not imitation absinthe, not people pretending to make absinthe real legitimate absent, that falls into the category as it was before the ban and multiple countries in the early 1900s. I also love aquavit. That's something else you should check out. If you're not familiar with it, it's Caraway and coriander based. Maybe there's a little Dill in there. Could be very late. Age could be white Spirit the Scandinavian countries, each have their own version of it and there are a lot of u.s. distillers making aquavit as well. Jen can be interesting. I'm not a huge gin fan but there are some really cool things out there. Particularly those genes that use ingredients that are particular to their local environment and terroir. The other category, I think you guys should look at is the DSs. This is a category that includes everything. The ttb cannot otherwise categorized Distilled Spirits specialty something that falls outside the bounds of whatever the ttb has put together for tax and trade purposes. For the distilled Spirits industry. One of the categories that I think that people miss out on including producers is the category of quote-unquote moon shine or whiskey from a mash of, right? There's a lot of cool things being done by home distillers right now and whether or not you realize that the next crop of actual Great craft. Distillers is home distillers because they're always pushing the envelope. They're always doing something new. Always doing something different using different equipment that is not available to most commercial distillers and or using different ingredients not available to most home distillers. So watch that DSS space. Listen life is too short to be stuck on Bourbon which is a corn whiskey at best. I just tell how it is.
