What is the best way to approach a landowner for permission? This is a great question and I'm still doing this every year since I started hunting 30 years ago. And my personal favorite way to approach a landowner is to do it in person. Uh, making a phone call the day before hunting season and getting all these blind phone calls from people you don't know isn't a great way. I'm a landowner. So I know what it's like to have these cold calls and random people calling you and want permission to go hunting on your land. I tell people find out who owns the land, find out where the gentleman or, or lady lives, drive up to their house, knock on their door, introduce yourself and in person, I've had the best results of getting permission for hunting. Now, having said that I've had to go to landowners for five years in a row and been told no. And I thank them and I come back the next year and I asked them the same question and one time it took me five years to get permission on a piece of land and I had no problem with that. I just kept coming back. They had other people hunting family members. I just kept coming back. I was very courteous. Um And eventually I got the permission to hunt on the land. So be personable, go meet people, talk to them, face to face. Landowners, really appreciate that.
