Hi Mark, great question. If I would have rewound the clock, I would have focused more on daily mastery of the sport and myself rather than rushing the process to be better at the next race. Take the long-term approach, big pitcher, which is the hardest thing in the world to do for a young athlete, but that is the one thing I would change and fix going back is focus on daily mastery, focus on process, and keep the big pitcher perspective, and assess your progress year to year rather than week to week or month to month.

This is going to be an interesting reply. I wish, I knew that my coaches were right. Some of the things that I've learned over time with experience. My coaches told me, I just didn't believe it. So, I wish I knew because when you're young in the sport, your you don't really know what you're doing. So I wish I knew that all my coaches were, right. Right? When they said think long term D patients, nothing happens overnight more intensity doesn't eat necessarily heals better results. So all the things that my coach coach has told me and I fell. I thought no, I, that now now possible especially the intensity one. I think triathletes have a tendency to think intensity brings better be. Of and really not true. That 2080 methods of training is still very true. So 20 intense 80 aerobic or easy and I didn't believe it until I actually did a lot of training intense training and not getting better, it was actually concert productive. So yeah, but I wish I knew That all my coaches were right.

I think going from one spot and running to three Sports. I kind of wish that I knew it's not doing three individual disciplines. It's yeah, more isn't more. You don't train like a run, a train. Like I said, my train like a cyclist. It's the whole kind of package the whole program and you have to Paradise. It you will have one part of the Season maybe where you're more swim. Focus one point where you're working on your bike. You're writing like having the way in different. Lee rather than do all three hundred. Max trying to keep up with Runners, keep up with cyclists. Keep up with swimmers and yeah, I kind of ran myself a bit into the ground. On first coming into Triathlon and my hours from my running hours into my travel on ours, we're just such a crazy increase, I don't think it got the best out of my racing.

Think what I wish I'd known when I was younger, when I started Triathlon, is that it was a lifelong Pursuit and that the timelines that I had in my head, the impatience to excel the framing of what I thought was good and what was bad was on her like time basis and it wasn't necessary. I was started racing when I was 19 and I continued racing till I was 37, that's enough. Time to make any Steak or correcting. So that's what I would, that's what I would like to have known.

I would love to know how to swim properly when I started, try it long. I know that. Now I that doesn't mean that I can swim effectively. I think I spent way too long when way too many years trying to swim improperly in The Lakes, without any coach, to keep an eye on me and explain some stuff to me. So, after doing several, hundreds and thousands kilometers of swimming in a very, very bad technique. I pretty much were never able to completely forget that and find a way how to swim with a great and effective technique. So if I would know those years back, I would skip all those Lake trainings and and sessions, and I will go to pool, find the coach, and start working with him first to get some feel for the water. Proper technique position of the body in the water. I was so bad that I for the first year. I was swimming freestyle with breaststroke kick so just to make and just to give an idea how bad I was in the water so that would probably something which would help me win a lot more races when I compared to what I've done.

I'm not sure it's what do I wish I knew when I started in triathlon. I think I just wish I'd found out about triathlon much earlier in life and when I was much younger. There are so many things I still want to do, so many races to go to, places and events to do. And I feel at the age I am and in my career I'm running out of time on that and clinging on to... I mean I still feel I'm improving, I've still got things to learn which is why I'm still doing it, I still love it. But yeah, I just feel I would have liked to have learnt about the sport earlier and what those opportunities were.
