What do I see as the biggest threat to Public Safety in your community and how do you address them? I would say, the biggest threat I see is the prevalence of guns being used against not only law enforcement, but the community as a whole. I mean, seems you can't go a day without something news, reading about or seen something about somebody being shot and killed or so many innocent being shot and killed. I think that's a problem that is systemic in society. That if you have a beef with somebody, if there's a road rage incident or you were disrespected or in, you know, communities, somebody disrespected or, you know, cross the wrong line on a block that the first thing that individuals resort to is picking up a gun and going after them and far too often law, enforcement is caught in those cross fires. I think, as of today, there have been three 13:23 law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty so far this year, way too high. So the threats of gun violence against our community as a whole and against our Law Enforcement Officers because we see unfortunately, all too often often officers being ambushed to get called out to a scene and they get ambushed and shot and killed. Just the tenant that that is acceptable and Prevalent is a major threat to Public Safety in the communities, so anything that we can do and that's what I try to do, is help agencies stem that gun violence, but not having it. Where the first thing that somebody thinks of if they've got an issue is picking up, that gun is the mindset that we need to change.

This is an interesting question because I think you're going a lot of different perspectives on this of. What do you see as the biggest threat to Public Safety in our community? And how do you dress it? I think our biggest threat is ourselves. We have to be diligent in looking at things around us and making sure to identify those things around us, that we may see as troubling or we may see as something that is out of the ordinary. You know, see something say, something is probably one of the biggest things in public, safety. The other thing is just to be diligent in your own space at home and at work with following the safety Protocols, are there for a reason we developed them through trial and error and somebody did something wrong to make sure that somebody in the future doesn't do something even worse. So I think the biggest threat is ourselves and so we just added to be diligent and getting more positivity and productivity.

I think some of the biggest threats to public safety really lies within ourselves. I'm going to speak as I always do to fire specifically, we get complacent. Operationally, we get complacent. This is the way we've always done it or I've got it stuck in my head sometime 15, 18, 20 years ago that that was the way I was going to do it and therefore I'm not going to try a new or different way. I'm not going to self-educate. I'm not going to take any new classes. I'm not going to train complacency. I think another threat to public safety is how we hire. We say that we hire for character. We do not. There is no reason why we should be having the number of misconduct issues that we do have in our ranks and the failing issues that we have in our fire academies given the number of applicants that we have. And finally, I think the Hollywood is a bee in my bonnet, the media discourse. All the TV shows out there, all the horrible shows and the horrible movies, the media discourse and the Hollywood machine and the way they paint, the way firefighting is supposed to be so people call 911 and they expect that. They expect these Olympic athletes to basically come knocking on their door. They're all impossibly handsome. They know exactly what to do. That's not the way it is.

Question asked is what do you see as the biggest threats to public safety in your community and how do you address them? The biggest threat that I see personally is misinformation. So if there is a false story or false narrative being put out, that becomes a massive, massive threat to the safety of all parties concerned. If there is a false belief or a false story purported, reported or purported, I think that is detrimental to our public safety. And the way that I personally address it is I don't. So I don't speak on politics. I don't speak on narratives. I just talk to people individually and I try to show them statistics based on my own personal experience and based on things that I've read. So I try to just dispel misbeliefs as best I can. And sometimes it's just not worth your energy. So, like I said, it's not where my area of focus is. My area of focus is helping people to become their own brand and to become their best self. So that's where I focus. I focus on the positivity. I don't focus on the negativity.

You know, I think one of the biggest threats to communities right now is the inability with some agencies and some municipalities to let police officers do their jobs. Their job is to go out there, be present, have a presence, and deter crime, arrest people that are committing crimes. But I think what you're seeing now is a backlash in the United States against law enforcement because they're doing their jobs. Are law enforcement perfect? No. We make mistakes. But unless we have law enforcement out there going out there and being proactive and making arrests and getting criminals off the streets, that's the biggest threat to community safety right now. So I would say let officers do their job. Yes, they need to be accountable. We all need to be accountable. But let them do their job. Let them do what they were trained for. That's the biggest threat.
