What do you put on the front of your port to keep it dry?

Hey Sachi. How's it going? I hope you're well. Thank you so much for your question. The question was, how do I what I put on the front port? To keep it dry. Usually when I'm shooting in the water. Yeah, I have two ports. Either a flat part, which I use for a telephoto lens or a dome port for for a wide-angle lens. But for the flat part to keep dry, I shoot sorry. I shoot I shoot the Dome Port wet which means before I go in the water I like use this, my saliva or Spit and lick on it and dunk the housing in the water just to make sure it doesn't leak. But also that way, it creates like a thin film of water to shoot through, which is great for wide angle. But for a short telephoto or a longer telephoto, you're shooting through like this thin layer water and the images aren't as sharp for a flat part. What I'll do is I actually I don't put anything on the port, I will, I'll swim out and always test your housing before you get in the water. And then I'll use the palm. On my hand to kind of rub the port, and the oils from my hand, usually help the water beat off. And then when I pull the housing up out of the water, all kind of shake it a little bit and then you can see the water, the Water Drops Fall Off, it gets a little tricky, if you're in like a sandbar situation like where you shoot a lot in Ocean Beach but I personally don't like using any sort of material. I feel like you become dependent on it. Some people used to like rub potatoes on the front but I've always just Just the grease, my hand or a little bit from behind your ear and rub it on the front and rinse your housing with fresh water after each use that way, the salt water doesn't stick to the port. I notice just by rinsing it, the housing, the water beads off a lot quicker after a while. And actually for my 7200 poor. I just replaced the front element on it after about four years using it. So that's another kind of nice. Trick is, if you can, if your Port allows it to to change it changes the front element on your report, every couple of years.
