Most common injuries that runners experience. Without making light of this, but answering a little bit tongue in cheek, I think one of the things that runners will often express is that the injury that a person's experiencing at any one point in time will feel like the most common and certainly the most devastating injury that you could imagine. The simple fact is that at some point during a runner's career, he or she's probably going to suffer some sort of injury. In a general sense, overuse injuries are probably the top category of affliction. It's far more common for a runner to have something that pops up, we ignore it, we run through it, and then it develops into something more chronic. Traumatic running injuries, things that happen falling off of a curb, spraining ankle, are much less common in general.
