How do you stay hydrated and do you use any type of hydration tablet?

Hey, Melanie, I'm kind of a water bottle a holic. So I'm constantly filling up water bottles and leaving them, strategically around the house and in the cup holders in the cars and like, on my bike. And so I'm just a Serial fill up the water bottle and have it ready, so that I'm constantly drinking. I don't use any hydration tablets, but I stay pretty hydrated by having water bottle with me at all times.

Hey Melanie, thank you so much for your question. I drink a lot of water and electrolytes throughout the day, especially around training. I also try to like drink good amount of water first thing in the morning, when you wake up, because I you dehydrate yourself a little bit while you're sleeping. So I have water before I start with coffee and then I'm sippin on water and electrolytes throughout the day. I actually don't love electrolyte tabs because my stomach has a hard time. With the sweeteners that are putting those, this is what I do use. I use the 60 Hydro sachets. They're awesome. They're like, pretty easy on my gut and I actually use these in racing too.

Hey Melanie, great question about hydration. It is so important, not only for performance, but for Recovery as well, so, definitely want to stay hydrated. I usually just drink water, to be honest. Most of the day. I do use, you can't hydrate for training and proposed training of. I feel like is particular. If you have a big indoor session and you're just sweating a lot. It's a great way to kind of replenish the electrolytes because you do need some of those electrolytes along, you know, with water throughout the day.

Great question because staying hydrated is super important whether it's hot out or not. I live in the desert a lot of the year and I travel out of it, but it's pretty intuitive to drink when you're there and it's dry and it's warm out and you're kind of thinking about it and I usually fill up, like a big, you know, Hydro Flask or something similar with ice water and that's pretty refreshing for the most part. But even I get bored of that and ice look to carbonated water flavored water or more specifically, I Like groovy, which is a non-alcoholic beer and that's nice to kind of switch it up and still get hydrated. And actually there's some studies that non-alcoholic beer. Some of the components of it are really good for hydration and for recovery after a workout, but then my Sports Nutrition, infinite has actually a range of products and you can adjust the calorie level the electrolytes in there and everything. And so I use a combination of some of their hydration. Just Scoops, which is kind of like a tablet but it's just not in tablet, form, probably what you're thinking of. And then obviously there's sports drinks that are more calorically dense for for workouts. So I definitely like to switch it up a bit. I think whether it's a powder or tab, that's a great go-to because a lot of the reason that you want to hydrate is to get that fluid in and I would say that this isn't for everybody. Like not everybody will run into this, but you can over hydrate. There is something that's if you're just pushing water. Our water then you're just going to pee out all the electrolytes in the things that you need to stay hydrated in your body. So I try and switch it up to, that's why I switch even carbonated water has some sodium and stuff in there, but I try and rotate out what I'm drinking and really be conscious of during workouts to be getting in all of the calories and electrolytes that I need, and then fill in in, you know, just with normal nutrition, so, I think that anything that's getting you to drink is pretty good because you don't want to forget about it. Just remember, kind of varied up a little bit and pay attention to that Sports Nutrition. And then immediately before, and immediately after your workout, just to make sure that your replenishing or kind of loading yourself up to just make sure you keep those levels. Pretty even

How do you stay hydrated? That's a great question. And again, it's very similar to a lot of the questions. I've answered previously that it is quite individual. Different athletes, absorb Hydra lights, and minerals differently. So you have to really try different sort of, I'd say sport strings or if it's sodium tablets or it really, really depends and you need to determine their by, you know, we technically, This that I hear on the hair every morning. So if you're dehydrated and you drinking plenty of water, you're obviously not absorbing that that fluid. So and all obviously the how do I stay hydrated? Well, that's a, that's a good question because it is also quite individual and some people absorb fluid really easily, retained sodium. All the, all the electrolytes and some people don't. So, I think it's A little bit of trial and error. And for me, I found that no matter how much I drank. I didn't retain, I didn't retain some of the fluids when I had to especially at altitude. So, you know, definitely trial different Hydra light tablets or drinks and indefinitely due to do a bunch of bunch of testing testing your urine before first thing in the morning is normally the best time so, you know exactly what you're consuming is. Taking effect.

Hello, you're staying hydrated is very important. And when you're racing, you want to get the carbohydrates in to keep the body field, but especially in the hot erases Kona, even when you're training when it's cold. You should tend to sweat a lot because you have lots of layers on. So hydration is key. It's not just water. I do use hydration tabs as well as a carbo drink. I use a product science in sport. They do lots of nice flavors. Watermelons a nice one, and the lemon and line as well. But yeah, I mean, I think what you put in your body is kind of what Outs. If you're not putting good quality products and energy fuel electrolytes back into your body, you're definitely going to, you know, suffer at some stage especially for the longer distance athletes, even when I've had a busy day. Not training so much just running around with the kids and stuff like that. I often popper, an electrolyte tab just in a glass in the late afternoon just to make sure I'm staying on top of everything. So the next day I can I can hit my sessions. So yeah. Hydration is key. Obviously, your body is with it's a 80 over 80 percent water. So we definitely need to keep that balance. Right, and keep those electrolytes and topped up. Hope that answered your question. Bye.
