The question is, how do you ensure that you are treating everyone fairly and without bias regardless of their background? Well, I think the key thing is, you said it in your question, treat them fair. I've always looked at it as, I want to treat people the way that I want myself to be treated. Growing up through my career at ATF and post-ATF, I had some great supervisors and great leaders that helped mentor me and I learned from them. Conversely, I also had some horrible bosses and individuals that I'm not going to call leaders because they weren't. They were managers. All they did was micromanage. I learned from them too because I learned from things that I would never want to do. Never want to treat them the way that they were treating me or I'm seeing them treat other people. So just being able to learn the way you need to handle yourself in a bunch of different situations and then emulate that about if you're sitting out and talking to somebody, how would you want that to be if the roles were reversed? So that's one thing I've always felt is treating somebody fair with respect, with honesty because you don't know what they're going through. You don't know what their background is. You don't know what personal things are going on. So it's all about treating them how you want to be treated and just being kind. That's the biggest thing. Be kind. Sit down and talk. Take what you've learned. Take the good kernels from those and pass those on. That's how I always want to treat somebody and that's how I want to be treated.
