Sponsorship is so important to train at the highest level and I couldn't have done it without it. I remember as a young Runner waitressing in a cafe for hours in the wee hours of morning, being on my feet for six to eight hour shifts. And also getting in my training as soon as I got my first contract, I was able to quit that job and spend the time that I would have been waitressing really recovering well and taking my naps and getting in proper nutrition and kick. King my feet up in between work out so it was definitely a critical aspect so many years ago and I really saw a huge Improvement in my performances as soon as I was able to dedicate 100% of my day to training and Recovery.

Okay, how did sponsors or sponsorships? Change your ability to train at the highest level? Well, obviously, for me when you think about that, your your the level that you want to train at that's your 9 to 5 job, that's what you do and you really don't have time to go and have a different nine-to-five job in order to be able to represent yourself in your country at that highest level and to accomplish the goals that you've set for yourself. So sponsorship plays a very very important role because without them and I was very fortunate. Blessed to have Nike as my sponsor, throughout my whole career. So, to have them to know that, you know, if I get out there and I accomplish the goals that I want to, I've got support monthly to be able to stay to substitute to be able to live pay my bills, do the things that I need to do and not have to worry about, you know, going to train and then going to work, finding a coach that's going to Allow for me to do it at that time or different times. So sponsorship is very important. It gives you the ability to His own Ian and to really put your all into training at that 100% effort to get the results that you want to represent yourself your country and then Your sponsorship, putting their brand out there. If a sponsor is going to take a chance on you, you know, what are they getting back in return? You're only as I say, as good as your last performance. So what are you going to leave out there? You don't want to be tired because you stood on your feet all day and now you're you know, risking injury or all those other I think so sponsorship plays a very important role in allowing you to do the things that you need to do. So I think All the sponsors who are out there and giving these athletes now opportunities to get out there and train and do the things that they need to do.

How did sponsors or sponsorships change your ability to train at the highest level? Well, I'll answer this question briefly for myself, but mostly for others that I know. Back in my day, I ran for the Hansen's Brooks distance project in Michigan for Keith and Kevin Hanson. And when I first got there, they didn't have a shoe sponsor. But, but we got got a shoe sponsor, a couple months into my time there, Brooks. But before that, they were sponsoring the team with their own money. That They that they made from Hansons Running shops but that sponsorship for me, changed, everything that I wouldn't have been able to continue running at a high level without that sponsorship because it allowed me to train with other high-level athletes. Really? It was the booze, the biggest thing about that sponsorship, but when you're talking about I wasn't at that high of a level when you're talking about the very highest level people. So folks that can get sponsorships that pay them a hefty amount of It's it gives them the ability to be a real true full-time athlete. So that means that their day like your day is, is completely dedicated to their job and their job is running so they get up in the morning. They run. They can go home and do whatever it takes to recover. Take a nap, go get a massage, go to professional strength and conditioning coach. Has to do their lifting, they can go to the very best physiotherapists to work on any injuries that might come up. They have the money to do that. They have the money to get MRIs of those sorts of things as they come up. And of course they get to choose whatever Races they want, because their sponsorship allows that for them, they don't have to go chasing money. They have a nice amount of money coming in on a consistent basis and they can choose their races based on what's best. For them. So that's kind of my answer in a nutshell. Hope that helps
