Transcript: "Hi, I'm Mickey Martin. Working with kids to provide the best possible fitness experience and keeping them motivated to live a movement-rich, healthy life is both a mission and an honor. My husband Jeff and I found CrossFit in 2003, becoming the fifth affiliate in the world. As early adopters, we were around for a lot of the growth. We were at the first ever games and were the head judges for the Southern California Regionals for several years. Again, along with my husband Jeff, I'm best known as the co-developer of CrossFit Kids and later co-founder of the Brand X Method. As such, my passion is as a fitness, strength, and conditioning coach with an emphasis on kids age 5 to 11. My approach is based in creating a broad physical literacy in a developmentally appropriate way and encouraging youth to live happy, healthy, movement-rich lives. At our home gym, we coach kids and teens in multiple sports to top-level state, national competition, and collegiate programs, as well as CrossFit games. Youth in our home gym set over 100 state and national powerlifting records in a short 8-year period. 10 of those records were set by kids ages 8 to 10. We have coached multiple kids who went on to play sports in university and even some that walked on to team sports that they had never played before. We have and continue to offer education and design, successful programs for youth and coaches all over the world. We have done this in a broad variety of diverse environments and have worked with thousands of coaches and kids. I look forward to talking with you and answering your questions about the needs of the youth in your community."
